In the late summer months, the vines will be filling with hardy and tasty fruit, for your enjoyment. Besides their delicious flavor and convenience as a snack, grapes also have many health benefits:

Grapes are a good source of vitamins A, B6, and C. They contain minerals like calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, iron, and have small amounts of copper, manganese, and zinc. They contain very powerful antioxidants, called flavonoids. Antioxidants are known to help neutralize harmful byproducts of metabolism called free radicals. These free radicals are believed to cause many disease problems. Antioxidants are believed to be important in preventing cancer, stroke, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s disease.
